Baby blessings

Tue, 08/21/07 10:10 A GMT-05

I can't figure out if I'm old or young to be a grandma. But who cares!? That little girl of ours (notice the plural possessive... "Wink) is beautiful. Check out this photo over at the blog for www.swwan.org

People who are seasoned grandparents say that the experience changes your life dramatically. Because the love and care is unmixed with the driving needs connected with providing for and training/disciplining the child, the feeling is exquisitely precious.

Now if I could only figure out how to stop my fingers from sweating in their little rubber suits...

Inflammation is the culprit in so much of what goes wrong in the human body, including congestive heart failure caused by infection, disease or defect. Researchers have invented a new machine that filters out markers in the blood caused by inflammation to try to improve heart function. The procedure, called plasmaepheresis, is still theoretical at this point. Initial efforts resulted in also

Aerobic Exercise is a monster-killer

Thu, 03/15/07 9:47 A GMT-05
Yes, we all know that exercise is good for us. But the ubiquitous "they" don't usually tell us specifically why. Now they're staring to be able to do that. First, they've recently discovered that excess fat (especially in the abdominal area) can lead to chronic inflammation throughout the system.

In a test done with a small group of healthy volunteers (20-45) they subjected their blood samples
